Positive: The location of the house is excellent, as are the views from there. No matter if you come into San Sebastian on road GM-1 or GM-2 or the ferry, you can always see the house from many kilometers away, sitting near the top of the hill. At the same time, you just need to climb down some (admittedly steep) stairs, and you're standing in the city center, where all the restaurants and shops are. The beach is also not far from there. The villa is spacious. The many available appliances, from dishwasher through coffee-machine and toaster to washing machine and drier, leave nothing to be desired.
Negative: The following are not really a problem in my opinion, as you can see from the near-perfect score I gave in this review, but I'm commenting because they were mentioned in some other reviews: - Yes, the Villa is sitting on top of a hill. You will have to go down some steep stairs to get to the city center or beach. If your goal is to visit the beach multiple times a day, or you have health problems that prevent you from going up and down steep stairs, you're probably better off with a hotel or apartment in the (flat) city center. You'll not get a great view over "almost everything" from there though. - Yes, the parking looks frightening at first. However, while 3 out of the 4 people in our group who tried it were a little frightened when they first saw the ramp leading up to the garage, 0 out of 4 had any problems whatsoever to reverse park on that ramp once they tried. It is wider and thus easier than it looks. Also, after driving around on La Gomera for more than a week, I can tell you that few accommodations will have more comfortable parking - the island is just too mountainous. (Note: We did not park into the garage, we only used the ramp.) - It did get a bit warm in the winter garden during the day, and there is no AC. However, this is on a hill close to the sea, so there is almost always some wind. We just opened the doors/windows on both ends of the house and were back to comfortable temperatures in the winter garden within minutes.
